The Power Academy is a unique partnership between industry and academia, established to address the looming skills shortage in power engineering through a combination of financial support and workplace mentoring for students. A number of scholarships are awarded each year to students at participating universities.

A Power Academy scholarship provides:

  • A bursary of GBP 2750 for each year of study
  • GBP 250 for books and software
  • Mentors from industry partners
  • Paid summer work placements
  • Annual high level seminar on important sector issues

You can apply for a Power Academy Scholarship if:

You have an offer to study an IET accredited MEng or BEng electrical, electronic or power engineering course at:

  • The University of Bath
  • The University of Cardiff
  • Imperial College London
  • Loughborough University
  • The University of Strathclyde
  • The University of Manchester
  • The University of Southampton
  • Queen's University Belfast

Or are already in the second, third or final year of an IET accredited degree course at one of these universities

You qualify for the home / EU tuition fees (scholarships are not available to students who pay tuition fees at the international level)
